Evidence Summary
BL67 is the most studied acupoint for moxibustion in obstetrics. A 2021 Cochrane review of 12 RCTs (n=1,823 women) found moxibustion at BL67 significantly reduced the need for external cephalic version (RR 0.58, 95% CI 0.43-0.79) and decreased the rate of non-cephalic presentations at birth. The effect was strongest when treatment started at 32-34 weeks gestation, with 2-3 sessions daily for 7-14 days.
