CV4 is located on the midline, 4 finger-widths (about 3 cun) below the center of the navel. It is one of the most commonly used points for moxibustion in traditional Chinese medicine.
A 2019 systematic review of 8 RCTs found CV4 moxibustion combined with acupuncture improved pregnancy rates in women with diminished ovarian reserve. For breech presentation, a 2021 meta-analysis showed moxibustion at CV4 and BL67 reduced the need for external cephalic version by 45%.
